AY's Orienteering
Egg Hunt takes place Tuesday,
April 4 at lunchtime! Students and Staff are
welcome to join in the fun. Please meet behind
the back portables right at 12pm, receive a map,
and get hunting for chocolate eggs (peanut-free)
throughout the back fields, paths and parks!!!
Over 500 chocolate eggs will be hidden!!!!
P.S. Thursday is our rain date.
AY's Sports Day will be
happening on the
afternoon of May 11
(12:10-3:20pm)!!!
Students can make a
team or join as an
individual! Choose
between traditional
sports like basketball,
volleyball, soccer and
floor hockey OR choose
non-traditional sports like Kinball, Pickleball,
Nukemball and Kids' Games. Only $10 to join! The
focus is on FUN, being active, trying some
new activities, and socializing with peers. No skills
or previous experience necessary! The funds raised
are in support of healthy active living & mental
health at

Summer School 2023 Expression of Interest
Schulich Builders Scholarships
Schulich Builders will combat the shortage of skilled
trades in Ontario and amplify their importance and
value to our community by awarding 100 annual
scholarships to the most promising candidates.
Schulich Builders are scholarships for students
enrolling in an eligible, full-time skilled trades
program at a participating college in Ontario. Ten
colleges award a total of 100 scholarships annually.
Each college will award ten scholarships.
- 5 students enrolled in an eligible one year program will receive the Schulich
Builders Scholarship valued at
$20,000.00
- 5 students enrolled in an eligible two year program will receive the Schulich
Builders Scholarship valued at
$40,000.00
NOMINATION DEADLINE:
Friday, April 14th, 2023 at 11:59pm.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Friday, May 5th, 2023 at 11:59pm.
Interested in Skilled Trades?
AYJ students are invited to attend a Career Fair
being held Wednesday, May 31st at Bell High
School from 9:00am-3:00pm in the main
gymnasium. The purpose is to explore and begin
thinking about potential career fields, education
and job opportunities that may be of interest to
you.
The Cooperative Education Program at Bell HS and
its students will be hosting the event featuring invited guests from various college and university
departments, as well as other guests from trade
associations and employers. There will be a number
of interactive activities for the students to try.
Some of the guests include Ottawa Police, Ottawa
Fire, Ottawa Masonry, Algonquin College, Le
Cordon Bleu and La Cite. Transportation will be
provided.

One of the morning school trips and one of
the afternoon school trips will be adjusted
to travel on Stonehaven and Grassy Plains,
reducing walking distance for students in
the Stonehaven / Old Richmond Road
area. Additionally, the time of the morning
trip will be shifted 3 minutes earlier, to
start at 08:30, given the longer running
time. The headsign for the trip in the
morning will be “AY Jackson via
Stonehaven” and in the afternoon,
“Bridlewood via Stonehaven.”
