Students are encouraged to complete the paper version of the Community Involvement Hours form available in the Guidance office. Students can also submit their hours electronically via the OCDSB Community Involvement Hours Form (electronic).

The community involvement graduation requirement of 40 hours was restored in 2022-23 by the Ministry of Education and students working towards their OSSD should be supported to meet these graduation requirements in time for their graduating year.

It is recommended that students do some community service hours every year in high school and submit forms to the main office at least once a year. If you need ideas about where to do your community service, there are suggestions on the back of the form. In addition, there is a bulletin board in the hall across from Student Services where community groups advertise for volunteers. This is updated regularly. There are many opportunities available this spring and summer. Students entering grade 9 can do community service in the summer between grade 8 and grade 9.
